caregiver support

Being a caregiver is a journey.  It can be a rewarding experience as you walk this path, and it can also be overwhelming, isolating, challenging and stressful at times.  The Hospice Hub is here to support you through programs and support services including:

Navigation - helping you to identify, locate and access the array of healthcare services and options relevant to your experience and needs.

Respite - A Home Support volunteer can offer you a break to rejuvenate, with the confidence that your loved one is safe in the trained and knowledgeable hands of our compassionate volunteers.

Caregiver Education – we provide ongoing education and support opportunities to caregivers to help ease the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual demands of caregiving.

caregiver resources

The Caregiver Ontario website has a variety of supports available to caregivers of all kinds. If you support someone in need and feel anxious and overwhelmed with your caregiving responsibilities, you’re not alone. The Ontario Caregiver Organization (OCO) exists to support Ontario’s 4 million caregivers; ordinary people who provide physical and emotional support to a family member, partner, friend or neighbour. We support caregivers by being their one point of access to information, so they have what they need to be successful in their role.

An in-depth and helpful guide for caregivers, titled Guiding Family Caregivers of People at End of Life: A Handbook (2016) can be downloaded from the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association website.
