I am grieving a death

We walk with you in your grief so you are not alone on the journey.

grief and bereavement program

We know how important it is to do the work of mourning. It is easier when you are not doing it alone

We create safe spaces for you to speak your truth, express your grief experience, learn from others who have also experienced the death of a loved one, and find support as you explore your changing life.

Our facilitators / companions are volunteers trained in bereavement support who have experienced the death of a loved one and mourned them. We embrace values of empathy, inclusion, confidentiality, mutual respect and accountability.

Please note that our program is run by peer facilitators trained to provide support to those experiencing loss. We do not offer counselling or therapeutic services.

closed groups

Trained peer volunteer facilitators support a group of people who have experienced the death of an adult loved one. A program of weekly topics provides plenty of opportunities to share insights, thoughts and questions about your own grief journey.

open bereavement groups

Bereavement groups are regularly scheduled and open to anyone, including those participating in other types of support. Facilitated by a trained volunteer, you are invited to join on a drop-in basis. Each gathering will focus on a specific topic and may feature a guest speaker.

one-on-one companioning

This personal, one-on-one service provides you with  a safe space to share your grief and explore your thoughts and questions. It is offered for a designated period of time with a trained peer volunteer.

Our trained peer facilitators provide support based on understanding and lived experience. This is not a therapeutic service.
